We returned yesterday from our longest family trip to date … a drive to Chicago, flight to Calgary, the next week+ visiting Kananaskis (site of the recent G7 Summit), Lake Louise, Jasper, Banff, and back to Calgary for a night before flying back to Chicago and driving home to Wisconsin. Lovely trip .. but like most lovely trips, the return to home was a welcome one.
I’ve always loved Canada, but have only had the opportunity twice to get there - both work related. Once to Toronto in the mid 90s and then to Edmonton in the early 2000s (albeit for 2 weeks in the dead of winter). This trip particularly sweet as first, it was totally for pleasure and second, I got to share it with my better half (and the 3 youngest of our 8 children). If you’ve seen anything from past posts, yes, I do live a charmed life — and know it.
Now, we settle back in to the (lack of…) routine life. Teaching classes, writing new meditations, looking forward to taking over a new class and creating a new virtual class. All good. Level 62 coming up in the few weeks … I think I might be close to hitting my prime…
There was no shortage of wildlife to be seen .. as expected. I’ll admit to being intrigued by the fascination by much of our small tour group. I guess having grown up in the back woods, I just expect that when you visit places where wildlife live, you’re gonna see wildlife. Bears, elk, sheep, mink .. yeah, you go there, you’re probably see them and we did. The little guy above was oddly patient with me for a solid ten minutes. He gazed at me .. I sat on the ground and gazed back. Like I said, I do live a charmed life….
